Adding contents/Assignments
Scenario:
Assume you need to add an assignment for the "Networking" subject, which is located in the BSc - IT program under Semester 01. You are responsible for setting up this assignment in Moodle to ensure students can access and submit their work.
Steps to Add an Assignment in Moodle:
- Log in to Moodle:
- Access Moodle with your credentials as a teacher or with administrative privileges.
- Navigate to the Course:
- From the Moodle dashboard, navigate to "BSc - IT."
- Go to "Semester 01."
- Click on the "Networking" course.
- Turn Editing On:
- Within the "Networking" course, look for the "Turn editing on" button. This is usually located in the top-right corner of the course page.
- Click on "Turn editing on."
- Add an Assignment:
- Scroll to the section where you want to add the assignment (e.g., Week 1, Topic 1).
- Click on the "Add an activity or resource" link within that section.
- Select Assignment:
- From the pop-up window, select "Assignment" and click "Add."
- Configure Assignment Settings:
- Assignment Name: Enter a name for the assignment (e.g., "Networking Assignment 1").
- Description: Provide a brief description or instructions for the assignment. You can also include any necessary files or links.
- Display Description on Course Page: Check this box if you want the description to appear on the course page.
- Set Availability:
- Allow Submissions From: Set the date and time when students can start submitting their assignments.
- Due Date: Set the due date and time for the assignment submission.
- Cut-off Date: Optionally, set a cut-off date for late submissions.
- Submission Types:
- Submission Types: Choose the type of submissions you will accept (e.g., file submissions, online text).
- Maximum Number of Uploaded Files: Set the limit on the number of files students can upload.
- Maximum Submission Size: Set the maximum file size for submissions.
- Feedback Types:
- Choose the types of feedback you will provide (e.g., feedback comments, offline grading worksheet).
- Grade:
- Grade: Set the maximum grade for the assignment.
- Grade Category: Optionally, select a grade category if you have set up categories in your gradebook.
- Save and Return to Course:
- Scroll down and click on "Save and return to course" to finalize the assignment setup.
- Verify Assignment:
- Back on the course page, verify that the assignment appears in the correct section and that the settings are as desired.
